Must have been during 'fire on the mountain' days? Usually if it looks this hazy the Montanans are all over on this side for a breath of clearer air...

Heh ... I don't remember exactly, but I think it was just a fairly typical early morning shot. Quite often, the canyon east of Missoula has a really lovely mist in it early in the morning.
Very different from how it was a couple of decades ago, when all the lumber mills were going and the wood-stove pollution in Missoula was at its worst! Then there could be lots of smoke, and really stinky stuff, too ...
