Today's photo is one that's always seemed kind of festive and holiday-like to me, even though that really isn't the subject matter at all. These are the lights in the lobby of Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier Park ... a shot I took back in May 2005, right after the hotel had opened for the season.

Okay, I'm just going over the backpages of your blog, that I just discovered. Your photo from May of 2005 is similar to one I took in the same place in 2009. How did I discover this blog anyway? I can't remember, even a day later, but we seem to have similar sensibilities where photography is concerned...maybe it was when I was looking for pictures of the North Fork country, or a 1965 Chevy 3/4 ton truck.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually a photo that means a lot to me ... I was a summer employee at Lake McDonald Lodge for six seasons, way back in the late 70s and early 80s. A truly wonderful experience, and it turned me into a Montanan, to boot!
ReplyDeleteAnd the North Fork is some of my very favorite country in the world ... if I could, I think I'd retire there tomorrow. I spent a fair amount of time up there last summer, so expect to see more photos of Polebridge and vicinity very soon.
Very glad you're enjoying the blog! Take care.
