Cow ...

Of all the signs in Montana, I think this one might be my very favorite. I photographed it in 2006 on the dirt road that heads due west from Alzada, into some extremely lovely country that's truly in the middle of nowhere.

  4. My sister-in-law taught at the Hammond one-room school, near Alzada. She loved it there and they loved her. She could take her whole school in her car for field trips.

  5. I really love that country out that way ... though I don't know how I'd feel about actually living there. I took some photos of Hammond a couple months ago, and I'll post them when I start up the blog again. It's an evocative little town in a great landscape.
