I haven't posted a photo of my own town of Bozeman yet, and this one seems as reflective of the community as any. This collection of discarded skis marks the property line of a small home on the town's north side.

When I think of Bozeman two things come to mind. The Museum of the Rockies, and Spanish Peaks, Black Dog Ale.

That's a lot of ski's
ReplyDeleteIt's always interesting, Rick, to hear what people think about when a place is mentioned ... and for Bozeman, Black Dog Ale is as good a thing as any! I can come up with my own images for other towns, but it's harder for Bozeman, I guess because I've spent so much time here.
ReplyDeleteAnd Nick, all I can say is -- yes, it is. :)
Ah Mark,,,,,,the reason you can't conjure an image for Bozeman may be because of all the cars and smog that [I'm sorry] doesn't blow to Billings. The wind doesn't blow in Bozeman ,,,,,,I think you're either thinking of Livingston or perhaps Big Timber. OR maybe Cut Bank,,,,,Ha,,,,,,,
ReplyDeleteYou know, Jeff ... if you're visualizing a place with way too much smog and traffic, I'm pretty positive you're actually thinking about Missoula! :-D
ReplyDeleteYea, you're probly right !! But only if you're visualizing a city of Montana,,,,,We don't really have traffic or smog compared to most states.
ReplyDeleteWhich is exactly why we love living here!
ReplyDeleteThough thinking about it, I'm going to change my earlier statement ... I think the worst Montana traffic I've ever seen was on the top of Logan Pass in Glacier, in the middle of the summer. Damn tourists!
What a great place to get stuck in traffic. Am waiting for the Going to the Sun Highway to open for the year!!!! Mark I'm sure you, in all your traveling have checked that out. It's always the best time to go, lots of water and big snow drifts.....and yea a few tour-eee-ta-doors......
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Jeff!! I worked in Glacier for eight summers when I was younger, and it's my favorite place on earth ... even with all the tourists. And without a doubt, the best times to go are at the beginning and end of the summer -- either right when they open the pass, or right before it closes.
