Of all the signs in Montana, I think this one might be my very favorite. I photographed it in 2006 on the dirt road that heads due west from Alzada, into some extremely lovely country that's truly in the middle of nowhere.

ReplyDeleteMy sister-in-law taught at the Hammond one-room school, near Alzada. She loved it there and they loved her. She could take her whole school in her car for field trips.
ReplyDeleteI really love that country out that way ... though I don't know how I'd feel about actually living there. I took some photos of Hammond a couple months ago, and I'll post them when I start up the blog again. It's an evocative little town in a great landscape.
