State champs ...

At least from the standpoint of a photographer, it's usually far more interesting to hang out in alleyways rather than city streets ... and that's true even in a little town like Shelby. I photographed this backdoor tribute to the town's high school athletes from the windows of the Empire Builder a few days ago.

I wonder if Warner Brothers knows about this?

  1. I wonder how I missed this? I graduated from Shelby High a long time ago but I remember vividly basketball fever, games in the gym, and the excitement of winning distric and division championships anf going to state. I don't know if WB knows about Wylie CVoyote, but he's been our mascot for as long as I can remember. Probably copyright violation, but I won't tell...

  2. Nah, I won't tell, either! And Shelby isn't the only place ... the University of South Dakota teams are also the Coyotes, and they used to use the same logo. :)

And it's been a long time for me, too ... but I still remember my high school games very strongly. Life was so much more earnest and clear-cut back then ...

  3. Wasn't it? It seems as though people were certainly more respectful back then. I'm a high school teacher and the kids now aren't the same as we were. I seem to remember that we actually cared about what was going on in the world.

And I apologize for my typos. I CAN spell but my typing is atrocious, so sorry about that. I thought I proofed, but it was late... :o)
